  • Swinging and hanging
  • Balancing on anything and everything
  • Bear crawls
  • Climbing
  • Jumping
  • Matching
  • Being upside down
  • Fine motor skills
  • Building strength

Gymnastics Preschool (Ages 3 – 4)

  • Class Requirements – Minimum Age 3, Maximum Age 4

Gymnastics classes for this age group will cater to the need for social development as well as movement education.  While focusing on basic motor skills, preschoolers will learn the social skills of sharing, helping others and listening politely.

Instructors of this age group present the students with basic gymnastics skills such as rolling, swinging, jumping and balancing. Body positions will be a primary focus and used throughout a students stretch in gymnastics.  Such positions include tuck, straddle, pike and stretch (or layout).  More difficult skills such as backward rolls, handstands and cartwheels are attempted with the aid of instructors.  However, mastery of these challenging skills are not expected at this age.

Gymnastics Preschool (Ages 4 – 5)

  • Class Requirements – Minimum Age 4, Maximum Age 5

With an increased attention span and improved strength and flexibility, gymnastics skills are acquired more easily at this age group.

Preschoolers will continue their development of social skills through partner activities as well as relays and group games with multiple tasks.  Additionally, progression of challenging skills for vault, bars, beam, tumbling and trampoline are presented to this class.  Instructors will “spot” students during skill performance for safety and learning purposes.
